Most shops concentrate along and the streets near Corso Italia, on the stretch from the railway station to the Ponte di Mezzo (the central bridge) and also along the Via Borgo Stretto, to the north of the bridge. Of course other shops are scattered everywhere in town.
The Leaning tower is the theme of most kiosks selling all kinds of souvenirs in the surrounding area of this monument. Temporary street vendors and kiosks vie for selling them. Watch out!!! Always haggle when you buy anything from the temporary stalls or vendors as they may feel offended if you did not.
Pisa is renowned for its biscotti (cookies) which can be purchased everywhere in town. Bakeries make different kinds of them but all are palate bending.
